Veldanda SI and ambulance driver held in bribe case

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Veldanda police station Sub-Inspector (SI) M. Ravi for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 through a government hospital ambulance driver G Vikram for doing an official favour to a complainant.

Ravi allegedly demanded a bribe from the complainant Deranagula Venkatesh of Tilaknagar Colony in Kalwakurthy in Nagarkurnool district for not registering a case against the complainant after seizing explosive material. The ACB officials recovered the tainted bribe amount from the possession of Vikram.

Vikram’s right hand fingers which came into contact with the tainted bribe amount yielded positive results in the chemical test. The SI performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, ACB officials. They produced both Ravi and Vikram before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
