VHP asks youth to observe February 14 as Martyrs Memorial Day

The right wing outfit also told people to give respect to traditional family value system

Hyderabad: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) appealed to youngsters to observe February 14 as Pulwama Martyrs’ Memorial Day instead of Valentine's Day in the state, and stay away from pub and drug culture.

The right wing outfit also told people to give respect to traditional family value system. Talking to reporters, the VHP state prachara pramukh Pagadakula Balaswamy along with Kallem Rajender Reddy, secretary of Bhagyanagar Vibhag, released posters with a message to youth to fulfil the ideals of martyrs of Pulwama. They asked youth not to spoil their future by engaging themselves in western culture or practices.

“The VHP activists will take out a candlelight march from Abids centre to send the same message. The western practices like celebrating Valentine’s Day has no place in the country. We should follow the ancient culture and tradition and emulate the holy love of Lord Radha and Krishna,” they said.
