Video of hotel staff washing tea glasses, plates in drainage water goes viral
Hyderabad: A video of the staff of an Udupi hotel in Yousufguda washing tea glasses and plates in drainage water went viral on social media platforms on Friday.
In the video, the staff of Sri Krishna Udupi hotel was seen washing glasses and plates in dark green drainage water and keeping them in a plastic bowl to use for serving food for customers. The behavior of the staff would pose serious health risks to customers having food in the hotel.
Several people in the city are already suffering from fever and other diseases especially dengue, chikungunya and typhoid. In spite of knowing the behavior of the staff, the management apparently failed to take preventive steps. Responding to the video, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), in a tweet, said, “Dear citizen, The Concerned Food Safety team @AFCGHMC have been alerted on this issue and the same will be resolved at the earliest.”
Netizens also responded sharply over the careless attitude of the hotel staff. In a tweet, a netizen Prashant said the food safety officials initiate action against the hotel in such a way that other hotels must hesitate to be careless in ensuring hygiene conditions.
