Vijaysai Reddy appears before ED on Kakinada sea ports issue
Hyderabad:The YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP, V Vijaysai Reddy, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Kakinada SeaPorts irregularities on Monday.
Reddy claimed he was not involved in the case in any way, and that a fake complaint was lodged with ED against him.
ED officials questioned him for six hours at its office in Basheerbagh.
After the ED questioning, Vijaysai Reddy told the media that the ED asked him at least 25 questions in connection with the irregularities. "I have nothing to do with these issues and no knowledge about the case. Even as I am a YSRCP MP, I was not related to the government body and not taking decisions. It was a false complaint. I asked ED officials to cross-examine the details with complainant Karnati Venkateswara Rao to ascertain facts," the Rajya Sabha MP said.
AP CID officials registered the case based on a complaint lodged by Venkateswara Rao. Based onthe FIR, ED officials initiated a probe.
"I asked the ED officials to establish call data records to check the call data of me. I will also take a pledge on the Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy to prove my innocence. I have no knowledge about the
Chartered accounts company Santhanam that was in touch with the state government and I explained the same to the ED officials," Vijaysai Reddy said.
Vijaysai Reddy also stated that his daughter was married to Sarath Chandra Reddy, a businessman, and that he has no business-related transactions with the family of Chandra Reddy.
