Sangareddy:Villagers at Dappur village in Nyalkal mandal on Wednesday detained gram panchayat secretary Jai Singh and Nyalkal MPDO Suresh in protest against land acquisition for the proposed pharma hub. The villagers alleged that the government's proposal to acauire 2,003 acres of land in Nyalkal would displace them.
They said that the officials had ignored the opinions of farmers and moved ahead for land acquisition. Zaheerabad police with additional forces rushed to Dappur and freed the officials, after persuading the protestors to meet with district officials.
