Viveka murder accused gets bail
Hyderabad: The High Court on Monday granted regular bail to Gajjala Uma Shankar Reddy, an accused in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy`s murder case. He has been in jail since September 9, 2021. While granting him the bail, the court considered that most of the accused in the case have got bail and Uma Shankar Reddy was in jail for more than three years. Moreover, the court also prima facie opined that there were contradictions in the statements of witnesses, other accused persons and the CCTV footage.
The court also considered that the petitioner had no criminal background and fully cooperated with the officers during the investigation. While granting the bail, the court imposed the conditions of executing a personal bond for a sum of `25,000 with two sureties for the same sum each to the satisfaction of the Principal Special Judge for CBI Cases, Hyderabad. He shall report before the SHO, Pulivendula police station, Kadapa district, every Saturday between 10 am to 5 pm.
