Mahbub College to fete Vivekananda’s historic visit
Hyderabad: The Mahbub College management committee, in collaboration with Sri Ramakrishna Math, is organising a grand event on February 13 to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s first visit to Hyderabad. The event will take place at the college premises, with Governor Jishnu Dev Verma and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy expected to attend as guests.
Swami Bodhamayananda from Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad, along with senior monks from various cities, will deliver messages to inspire society, especially the youth, said P.L. Srinivas, chairman of the management committee.
Swami Vivekananda visited Mahbub College on February 13, 1893, engaging with the people of Hyderabad before embarking on his journey to Chicago. Later that year, on September 11, he delivered his historic speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions, profoundly shaping global perceptions of Hinduism and Sanatana Dharma.
Srinivas highlighted that the event would be a moment of inspiration for thousands of students from Swami Vivekananda Institute of Technology, Bolton School and the degree college.
