Hyderabad: Gade Kartheek, an Assistant Engineer, drawing branch at the office of the Panchayat Raj Engineer in Warangal, was caught by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) at Haritha Kakatiya Hotel Nakkalagutta in Hanumakonda when he allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs.5,000 from a complainant.
Kartheek demanded bribe for scrutinizing and finalizing bills worth approximately Rs.9 lakh related to the completion of three CC roads under MGNREGS grants at Kadarigudem village in Wardannapet in Warangal.
The chemical test conducted on the right-hand fingers of Kartheek and the contact area of his inner flap on the back side of the right pocket of his pants, yielded positive results, according to ACB officials. They said the bribe amount was recovered from his possession.
