Warangal: Police Foil Maoist Bid to Plant Bombs, 6 Held
Warangal: Mulugu police on Saturday thwarted a Maoist attempt to kill police personnel by planting bombs at the Thadapala forest in Venkatapuram mandal bordering Chhattisgarh, and nabbed six ultras including a deputy dalam commander.
Superintendent of police Sabharish said the Maoists belonged to the Venkatapuram-Wazedu area committee and Dandakaranya special zonal committee. They were identified as Karam Bhadru alias Ritha (deputy dhala commander), Sodi Kosi alias Mothe, Sodi Vijay alias Idumu, Kudam Dasru, Sodi Urra and Madakam Bhima.
When they tried to escape after seeing security personnel, the police chased them and nabbed six members including two women Maoists (deputy dhala commander Karam Bhadru and Sodi Kosi)
The police seized a DBBL weapon, four kits and two walkie-talkies, 10 ammunition, 17 meters of Cordex wire, six detonators, 12 gelatin sticks, 20 batteries, one pressure cooker, one tiffin box, two backpacks, two knives, six chargers, five car keys, three torch lights, one radio and 20 iron spikes along with books.
