Warangal Police Lead 4K Run to Raise Awareness on Drug Dangers Among Youth
Warangal: The Warangal police commissionerate on Sunday organised a 4K run to create awareness among youths about the ill-effects of drug usage here in Hanamkonda.
Several students from various educational institutions along with local youth participated in the run starting from police commissionerate to police parade grounds covering Ambedkar circle, Nakkalagutta and Adalat circle.
Police commissioner Amber Kishore Jha, collectors of Warangal and Hanamkonda districts Satya Sharada, Praveenya, NPDCL chairman Avinash Reddy and Jabardasth fame Adhirey Abhi who attended as chief guest inaugurated the event by waiving the flag and participated in the run.
CP Amber Kishore Jha said officials of the police department are striving hard for transforming the Warangal police commissionerate into a drug free commissionerate. Several types of programmes creating awareness among various sections of people are taken up under the commissionerate limits.
By making the youths participate in the events conducted against drug usage, they are motivated to focus on their future and reach greater heights by being away from drugs.
Youths were told either usage of drugs or involving in any kind of activities regarding drug peddling will land them in jail and will spoil not only their bright future but also the image of their parents in society, he added.
Later, the guests handed over prizes to the winners who participated in the 4K run. DCPs Ravinder, Raja Mahendra Naik, additional DCPs Ravi, Sanjeev, Suresh Kumar, ACPs, inspectors, RIs, SIs and RSIs were present at the event.
