Hanumandla Janardhan, the Hindi teacher who worked for more than seven years in the school retired from his services. To give him a grand tribute, the students of the school along with their parents including the villagers decided to give him a memorable tribute.
They conducted a retirement function and after felicitating him, they took out a procession in the village by making him and his family members sit in the bullock car and by pulling it by themselves along with their parents to show their respect and affection for him.
While the girl students decorated the bullock cart, boys started to pull the cart by showering it with flowers and performing traditional dances like Kolatam and playing Bathukamma.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Janardhan said when the school staff and students told him they were organising a retirement function, he thought of a normal type of function. But he was surprised after seeing the arrangements.
Meanwhile, former vice-president Venkaiah Naidu remarked on the event highlighting the enduring Guru-disciple bond in the Indian tradition. He appreciated the kind gesture shown by the students towards their beloved Hindi teacher Janardhan.
