Warasiguda Police Filed Case of Cheating, Harassment Against GHMC Joint Commissioner
His wife lodged a complaint after finding him with another woman at his flat
Hyderabad: The Warasiguda police on Friday registered a case of cheating and harassment against GHMC joint commissioner S.V. Janaki Ram following a complaint from his wife S. Kalyani, shortly after the complainant and her associates beat him up at his flat after discovering him with another woman.
According to Warasiguda inspector, Kalyani, 41, alleged that Janaki Ram and her in-laws harassed her mentally and physically and that her husband had tried to kill her. The woman he was found with was 29 years old.
Police said Kalyani was Janaki Ram’s second wife; he had remarried after his first wife died.
“She also stated in her complaint that she got to know on Friday that her husband had married another woman, and that they were staying in a separate rented apartment,” the inspector said.
After she learnt of this, Kalyani went to the apartment with her family members and on catching Janaki Ram with the woman, beat up the couple.
A case has been registered against Janaki Ram, his family members and the woman crime no. 32/2025. Further investigation is underway. Janaki Ram later lodged a complaint regarding the assault.
