Water from 14 rivers collected for Yadagirigutta fete
CM to take part in festivities on Feb. 23

Bhongir: Principal secretary of endowments Shailaja Ramaiyer on Thursday directed officials from various departments to coordinate efforts so that devotees can take part in the the Maha Kumbh Samprokshana ceremony scheduled at Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple in Yadagirigutta on February 23. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is set to participate in the ceremony. The principal secretary also reviewed the arrangements for the helipad, which is designated for the Chief Minister’s arrival.
Water from 14 rivers — including the Godavari, Penganga, Yamuna, Ganga, Prajagraj, the confluence of Ganjam, Yamuna and Saraswathi, Sarayu, Gomathi, Narmadha, Manjeera, Thaliperu, Haridra, Krishna, Thunga, and Bhadra — has been collected and placed in kalash within the Yagashala for pujas. The water will be used for the Maha Kumbh Abhisekham, which is to be performed on the temple's gold-plated vimana gopuram.
In a review meeting held at the EO's office on the hill shrine, Ramaiyer was joined by district collector M. Hanumantha Rao, temple executive officer A. Bhaskar Rao, and deputy commissioner of police Lakshminarayana. The meeting focused on streamlining arrangements for the large crowd expected to gather at the temple's gold-plated vimana gopuram.
Ramaiyer emphasised that departments including revenue, police, and health must work in unison to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees. She specifically instructed temple authorities to prioritise cleanliness and efficient queue management, given the anticipated rush. Additionally, she outlined that the police should implement a comprehensive plan to manage traffic flow, vehicle parking, and VIP security.
