WE-HUB gets new CEO
Hyderabad: The state government on Wednesday appointed Sita Pallacholla as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WE-Hub, replacing the incumbent Deepti Ravula. The new CEO will hold office for three years.
In addition, the government appointed Joginder Tanikella as CEO of T-Works for a three-year term. Sri Sai Krishna was appointed IT adviser to the D. Sridhar Babu, minister for information technology, electronics and communications, for two years.
This administrative change came amid continued allegiance of some influential bureaucrats to former IT minister K.T. Rama Rao.
Deepti Ravula's tenure as CEO of WE-Hub was marred by several controversies.
There were allegations of rampant politicisation of state-led initiatives, including WE-Hub and the Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC), under her leadership. These organisations were reportedly manipulated to bolster the political image of Rama Rao and his sister and BRS MLC K. Kavitha.
Employees of WE-Hub had earlier recounted to Deccan Chronicle how events were staged to politically benefit BRS leaders, often sidelining the core mission of entrepreneurship support.
It's noteworthy that still the handles on X (formerly Twitter) of organisations like the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) are devoted to the previous government with cover pictures of former minister Rama Rao.
