No delay in arrest of Mohan Babu: Rachakonda CP

Hyderabad: Stating that there was no delay in actor Mohan Babu's arrest, Rachakonda commissioner of police (CP) Sudheer Babu said that currently three cases registered against the family with Pahadi Shareef police are being investigated.
Addressing the press on Monday, Sudheer Babu informed that they were actively looking into the matter and clarified that the police issued a notice to Mohan Babu and he secured time until December 24 by moving a lunch motion petition in Telangana High Court.
It can be recalled that after the clashes among the Manchu family members and an attack on the members of the media at Manchu Township in Jalpally December 10 and Rachakonda police registered a case and a bind over on these incidents.
Attending for the notices, Manchu Manoj and Vishnu presented themselves before the Additional District Magistrate and submitted a bond of one lakh each to maintain peace for a year. However, Mohan Babu did not show up stating he was hospitalised, simultaneously filed a petition in the High Court and was granted relaxation till December 24.
"Since the court has granted him the time, we have refrained from making any arrest. If he still needs time, he can approach us and we can grant permission as per the provision of BNSS," the CP explained.
Sudheer Babu further added that Mohan Babu had two firearms at his residence in Chandragiri town of Chittoor district and he surrendered them at the local police station.
