Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Saturday asked the special officers of Dalit Bandhu to visit all villages and identify those who got benefited under the Dalit Bandhu scheme and collect the details.
Speaking at the meeting to review the implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme at Chintakani mandal headquarters in Madhira constituency of Khammam district, he said that misuse of Dalit Bandhu would not be tolerated. He directed the special officers to verify if the assets sanctioned under the Dalit Bandhu were with the beneficiaries or they had been diverted to others.
The officials must find out if the assets were sold or transferred to others. All these issues should be identified in a week and the assets should be restored to the original beneficiaries in a week. Bhatti said it was a crime to sell or transfer assets sanctioned under the Dalit Bandhu scheme to others. The beneficiaries who completed the first phase successfully should be identified and within a week the second phase of funds would be released to them.
If required, industrial parks would be sanctioned to enable beneficiaries to set up small scale units. Bhatti said Chinthakani mandal was selected for saturation mode implementation under Dalit Bandhu. While Chinthakani mandal was selected for saturation mode, another 100 beneficiaries were selected in Madhira constituency. The details of those beneficiaries should also be collected in a week. The reasons why sheep and goats perished must be inquired into, he said.
He sought to know if officers got the insurance amount released to the beneficiaries. It is the responsibility of officers to get the sheep insured and get the insured amount to the beneficiaries, he said, asking officers to track the cows and buffaloes sanctioned to beneficiaries and to whom they were sold.
The JCBs, trolleys should be utilised in irrigation, panchayat Raj, R&B works. If required officers should coordinate between JCB owners and contractors and ensure that the equipment sanctioned to Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries was used in government works.
Emphasising that Dalit Bandhu scheme should be successful hundred per cent, Bhatti observed that the special officers did not have proper data about the beneficiaries. The officers should give feedback to district Collectors continuously on how Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries were utilising the assets sanctioned to them.
He made it clear that the Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries should not sell or transfer assets sanctioned to them to others. It is the sole responsibility of officers to see how beneficiaries were putting into use the assets sanctioned to them to make a living under the scheme. Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries alone should do business with the assets sanctioned to them and the assets sanctioned to them should remain with them, he said.
