Woman arrested in Wazedu SI suicide case
Hyderabad: A woman was arrested on Saturday in connection with the suicide of SI R Harish. The SI died by suicide on December 2 at a resort.
The arrested woman, Banoth Anasuya alias Anusha, was employed as administrative staff at a college. She first contacted the SI seven months ago due to a mistaken phone call.
Anusha began calling the SI frequently, expressing her desire to marry him. She repeatedly pressured him into a relationship, but he ultimately rejected her advances.
Following his rejection, Anusha threatened to publicly accuse him of sexual exploitation and to complain to higher authorities. She also threatened to harm herself if he did not agree to marry her.
The SI, unable to cope with the constant harassment and threats, succumbed to immense mental distress and died by suicide.
A case has been filed against Anusha, and she has been remanded to judicial custody.
