Woman killed by husband, in-laws, buried at rented home in Mahbubabad

WARANGAL: In a horrifying incident, a woman was murdered by her husband and his family members, who then buried her body in a pit on their rented property. Shockingly, the accused continued their daily activities, including cooking meals on the site, before fleeing the house. The crime took place in Signal Colony, Mahbubabad town.
According to police, the victim, Nagamani (35), lived with her husband, Kati Gopi, their two children, and Gopi's parents, Lakshmi and Ramulu, sister Durga, and brother-in-law Mahendar. The family had been residing in a rented house for several months, working as daily labourers and beggars.
Nagamani had reportedly been facing harassment from her husband and in-laws for months. On January 13, Gopi, along with his family, allegedly murdered Nagamani and buried her body in the house's yard. After spending the night in the house, they locked it and fled the scene.
The crime came to light when the house owner, Anjaiah, visited the property on Thursday to collect rent. Noticing the house locked and signs of disturbance, including a freshly dug pit, he sought help from locals to excavate the area. They uncovered Nagamani's body and alerted the police.
Police arrived at the scene with a dog squad and shifted the body to the hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to locate and apprehend the accused.
