Woman Maoist Killed on Suspected Police Links

Hyderabad: A woman cadre of the CPI (Maoist) was killed by her fellow members late on Tuesday night along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, after being suspected of involvement in a police ‘covert operation.’

The deceased, identified as Neelso alias Banti Radha, was a resident of New Indira Nagar in Hyderabad. She had joined the CPI (Maoist) in 2018 and had risen through the ranks to serve as a commander.

Radha’s body was discovered in a dense forest area near Chinnapuram on Wednesday morning, sparking fear among local residents.

Radha initially joined as a dalam member, later becoming a zonal military instructor before being promoted to commander of the protection team for the outfit’s top leaders. However, three months ago, she was suspended from her commander post after the leadership began suspecting her of collaborating with the police in their covert operations.

The Maoist Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) reportedly referred to Radha as a ‘traitor,’ stating that her death was a ‘punishment’ for her alleged actions. It was revealed that her execution was agreed upon by all members of the group.
