Woman sells 3 minor sons for Rs 4.20 lakh
Nizamabad: In a shocking incident, a woman sold her three minor sons in Armoor for Rs 4.20 lakh. The children, aged 3, 5 and 7 were sold off over a 10-month period in Nizamabad and Jagtial districts.
While conducting patrolling on Sunday, Armoor assistant sub inspector G.Chinnaiah noticed the sale of a boy in Mamidipally area.
Sangem Bhagyalaxmi of Ramadugu village in Dharpally mandal lived in Mamidipally of Armoor town in a rented house.
Reportedly, she sold her sons to Bathula Gangadhar for Rs 1 lakh, Salavasu Vanaja for Rs 2 lakh and Deshaboina Narsaiah for Rs 1.20 lakh. The sale of the children was completed in 10 months.
Noticing the police, Bhagyalaxmi absconded from Mamidipally. Armoor police SI Tirumalagiri Govind said Sangem Bhagyalaxmi sold her three children for Rs 4.20 lakhs.
Reasons for the sale of the children are not known, he said. Police are searching for the accused and will rescue the children, he said.
Govind said action will be initiated against the buyers of children after investigation. There is no complaint over the sale of children in Armoor and police registered a suo motu case and are investigating.
