Won’t accept inclusion of Muslims in BCs: Bandi

In a social media post on X, Bandi Sanjay warned the CM that the Hindu community would revolt if the Congress government proceeded with this move

Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar reaffirmed the BJP’s opposition to religion-based reservations, declaring that the party will never accept the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government’s attempts to include Muslims in the Backward Classes (BCs) list.

In a social media post on X, Bandi Sanjay warned the CM that the Hindu community would revolt if the Congress government proceeded with this move. He also accused the Congress of reneging on its promises and deceiving the BCs by failing to implement the promised 42 per cent reservations.

Alleging that Congress lacked the courage to contest local body elections, the minister pointed out that grants under the 15th Finance Commission would be halted if the polls were not conducted by March. He noted that funds had already been stalled twice and questioned why the Congress, despite being aware of this, is still delaying the elections.

He further alleged that the Congress government is violating the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments, which mandate that local body elections be held every five years. “Without sarpanches, how will gram panchayats function and implement development programmes? Will you let development in villages come to a standstill?” he alleged that the Congress is avoiding elections solely out of fear of defeat.
