Work to make Rahul PM, Revanth tells Congress cadre

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has set a clear political agenda for the Congress leaders and activists in Telangana: Party programmes and government decisions effectively reach the people and ensure that Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister.
Acknowledging the contributions of dedicated party members, Revanth Reddy assured that their loyalty would be recognised and rewarded. He announced that vacancies in corporations, market committees, and nominated positions across districts would be filled soon, and directed in-charge ministers to complete the appointment process by March 10.
He warned that those who fail to actively contribute to the party’s mission would not see their positions renewed. “If any members believe their work ends once they secure a post, they will face a ‘one-time settlement (OTS) scheme,’ meaning no renewal after two years,” he cautioned.
Addressing the TPCC’s extended meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Revanth Reddy said, "Thanks to Rahul Gandhi’s relentless pursuit, caste census and SC sub-categorisation were achieved in Telangana under Congress regime. If we have accomplished so much at the state level, imagine what we can do when Congress comes to power at the national level."
He highlighted Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and his ongoing efforts to connect with the people. He urged party members to remain steadfast in their mission until Rahul Gandhi secures the Prime Ministership, stating that removing the Modi-led BJP government should be their primary goal.
The Chief Minister also welcomed the appointment of Meenakshi Natarajan as the AICC in-charge for Telangana, and stressed the party high command’s dedication to strengthening the state unit. He advised party workers to promote the party’s achievements publicly while addressing internal issues privately.
Addressing a press conference after the TPCC meeting, Revanth Reddy accused Union minister G. Kishan Reddy of obstructing Telangana’s development projects such as the Metro Rail expansion and the Musi rejuvenation to serve the interests of his ‘secret friend’ and BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
“Why is Kishan Reddy ridiculing our demand for Metro Rail expansion and the Musi clean-up? The BJP can spend on cleaning the Sabarmati and Ganga rivers, and even promised to clean the Yamuna in Delhi. What is his problem when Telangana seeks funds for similar projects in Telangana,” he questioned.
Revanth Reddy claimed that despite his requests to Union ministers for project proposals, there was no pressure from Kishan Reddy to secure clearances. “I am convinced Kishan Reddy is the major obstacle for the Metro Rail, Regional Ring Road, and all other projects,” he said.
Responding to Kishan Reddy’s remarks on seeking Central approvals, the Chief Minister reminded that India is a Union of States, and Telangana has the right to plan projects as per its needs. He also criticised the Modi government for diverting semiconductor projects from Telangana to Gujarat and Assam.
“We don’t need to beg; it is our right to demand central funds. Telangana is a major contributor to the country’s economy but receives only 42 paise per rupee contributed, while Bihar gets ₹7.06 and Uttar Pradesh ₹3,” he pointed out, accusing Kishan Reddy of failing to advocate for Telangana’s rightful share.
Revanth Reddy also raised concerns over the proposed delimitation of constituencies, warning that it could disproportionately affect southern states. “The BJP is conspiring to retain power permanently, and the delimitation in its current form will push the South into a severe crisis,” he argued.
