Hyderabad:A World Bank delegation that met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat here on Saturday has commended the state government's focus on key development sectors and expressed interest in collaborating with some development projects.
A high-level team comprising World Bank country operation head Paul Procee and the South Asia region vice-president Martin Raiser visited Hyderabad to take forward the meeting that Revanth Reddy had with World Bank president Ajay Banga in Washington last month.
The Chief Minister outlined the state's development priorities, including urban infrastructure, education, healthcare and irrigation, each of which has been identified as a key area for rapid growth. He stressed the government's commitment to implementing high standards in these sectors and sought financial support from the World Bank to ensure successful execution of the earmarked projects.
Raiser praised the government's vision, particularly in the fields of education and healthcare. He noted that the World Bank's priorities align closely with those of the Telangana government and expressed interest in enhancing the state’s development projects.
The meeting was attended by top state officials, including irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, chief secretary A. Santhi Kumari and special chief secretary (finance) K. Ramakrishna Rao, among others.
This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening partnerships between the Telangana government and the World Bank, as both entities work towards shared goals of sustainable development and infrastructure enhancement in the state.
