Hyderabad: In a move aimed at strengthening the management and development of the famous Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed that a new temple board be established, modelled after the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for autonomy, instructing officials to amend existing laws if necessary to ensure that the Yadagirigutta temple board operated with the same independence and procedural integrity as the TTD.
He referred to the temple as "Yadagirigutta," signalling a return to its original name after it was renamed "Yadadri" by the previous BRS government. This change clearly indicates that the Congress government has decided to restore the traditional name of the temple, a move likely to resonate with devotees and locals.
During a review meeting on the ‘SPEED’ initiative held at the Secretariat on Friday, Revanth Reddy expressed his dissatisfaction with the progress of the development work at the Yadagirigutta. He ordered the immediate commencement of goldplating for the temple's Rajagopuram. Additionally, he ordered a comprehensive report within a week, detailing remained to be done.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the importance of involving donors and corporate entities in the construction of cottages and other facilities for devotees. He noted that Yadagirigutta should be developed with a forward-looking approach, keeping in mind the future needs of the temple and its visitors.
Revanth Reddy also announced plans to renovate the Ramalingeswaraswamy temple at Keesaragutta. He proposed that the temple be reconstructed as a replica of the historic Ramappa temple in Mulugu district, but using modern technology while maintaining its traditional architectural style. The Chief Minister advised against using the sandbox technique employed at the Ramappa temple, suggesting instead that the reconstruction should incorporate contemporary advancements.
