Yadavs, Lalu Thank Revanth for Govt Boost to Sadar Festival
Hyderabad: Days after the state government issued orders in celebrating Sadar as state festival, the Yadav community leaders extended their gratitude to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Former Bihar chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav — one of the foremost leaders of the Yadav community in the country — appreciated Revanth Reddy for participating in the Sadar Sammelan organised at NTR stadium in Hyderabad a few days ago.
“The event, which has been celebrated annually in Hyderabad since 1946, was made especially memorable this year, with your historic participation as the Chief Minister of Telangana for the first time,” Lalu Prasad Yadav said, in a letter addressed to Revanth Reddy.
“Your (Chief Minister’s) gracious announcement that the Sadar Sammelan will henceforth be celebrated officially by Telangana government along with your commitment to allocate adequate funds reflects your dedication to honouring and promoting Telangana's diverse cultural traditions,” he said.
On November 1, Chief Secretary Shanthi Kumari issued an order declaring Sadar as the state festival and directed all district collectors to celebrate it every year. The government also sanctioned Rs 1.5 crore for Sadar celebrations in villages.
When Revanth Reddy was the TPCC chief, he participated in Sadar celebrations held at YMCA in Narayanaguda and promised to make Sadar a state festival when the Congress comes to power.
TPCC secretary Charan Yadav also extended his gratitude to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for making Sadar the state festival.
Former MP M. Anjan Kumar Yadav and his son M Anil Kumar Yadav, who is also an MP, organised the celebrations.
