Telugu Culture in Full Display as Kishan, Bandi Take Oath
Hyderabad: Newly-elected MPs G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar took oath in Telugu as members of the 18th Lok Sabha, during its inaugural session in Parliament, New Delhi on Monday.
In fact, most MPs from the two Telugu states took oath in Telugu.
Union minister for coal and mines Kishan Reddy attended the session in traditional Telugu attire 'Pancha Kattu'. Minister of state, home, Sanjay Kumar was in his distinctive white shirt.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took his oath in Hindi amid slogans of "Jai Shri Ram" from the treasury benches.
The newly-elected Lok Sabha MPs showed their love for mother tongues as members took oath in Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Hindi and a few in Sanskrit as well.
