Anantapur: Activists of Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) and Telugu Yuvatha activists have demanded a judicial probe into the alleged irregularities committed by AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) chairman Prof. Hemachandra Reddy.

A team of TNSF and Telugu Yuvatha leaders met Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) vice chancellor on Wednesday and demanded for a probe into large-scale irregularities into the recruitment process of the university. They charged that Prof. Hemachandra Reddy has committed irregularities not only at the state level but also in Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur, and SKU over the past five years.

Telugu Yuvatha state unit vice president Venkatappa, official spokesperson Lakshmi Narasimha and others told media that they will meet education minister Nara Lokesh and seek a detailed probe against Prof. Hemachandra Reddy during his term as the APSCHE chairman. They alleged that the whereabouts of Prof. Hemachandra Reddy is unknown ever since he has gone on leave a day before the counting of votes in Andhra Pradesh. Official sources in JNTUA said so far they have received no intimation about Hemachandra Reddy joining back as professor of mechanical engineering department in the JNTU, Anantapur, where he worked before becoming the APSCHE chairman.
