Two 9-yr-old boys end life over petty issues

Warangal: In separate incidents, two nine-year old boys ended their lives over petty issues here in the Warangal region.

Nine-year-old Harshavardhan, a resident of Chintagudem of Gangaram mandal in Mahabubabad district, died after a quarrel with his father over his style of haircut.

The father Esam Kantha Rao took the boy for haircut the barber shop on May 25 and asked the barber to cut the boy’s hair short. The boy argued with his father and insisted that he wanted another style of hair-cut.

Kantha Rao forcibly made the barber cut the hair short. Upset, the boy consumed pesticide after reaching home.

The boy’s parents immediately shifted him to a private hospital, but he died on Friday morning, police said.

In the other incident, a boy ended his life by hanging to the fan at his home. Nine-year-old Siddu and his family resided at Mainampally village in Duggondi mandal of Narsampet constituency.

During the summer holidays, Siddu along with his friends kept playing outside without listening to his parents. Since it was too hot outside, Siddu’s mother scolded him and detained him inside the house. Upset, Siddu ended his life when his parents were away in the farm, police said.
