G. Srivedya dished out her top level game as she clinched four titles in various categories while K. Sathwik Reddy emerged next best performer to win two titles, in the boys U-13 category and finished runner-up in the U-15 boys singles of the GHMC Annual Open Badminton Championship at the GHMC Ameerpet Sports Complex.
In the U-17 girls singles final, Srivedya outclassed Pallavi Joshi in straight games 21-11, 21-10 to take the trophy home.
Later, she paired up with V. Shriya to carve out a dominant victory over P. Meghana and Anshu Reddy in the U-17 girls doubles final. The scoreline read 21-2, 21-8.
Srivedya continued her fine run in the U-19 girls category too. In the singles final, the girl from CABA academy brushed aside Apex’s Meenal with a 21-18, 21-12 scoreline and later emerged winner in the doubles section too along with her partner Y. Shrey after beating the pair of Aishwarya T. K. & M. Vaishnavi with 21-15, 21-16 scoreline.
Meanwhile, K. Sathwik Reddy was another top performer in the contest. He got better of G. Akshat Reddy in the U-13 boys singles final to take top place on the podium. The verdict read 21-15, 21-13.
In the U-13 doubles final, Sathwik and Akshat partnered to put brakes on K. Roshan and Chandra Koushik to take the top honours with the scores reading 21-18, 21-17.
However, it was disappointment for Sathwik in the U-15 boys singles final.
Sathwik, who was in top form in the Under 13 categories, went down fighting to T. Vignesh in straight games. The scoreline displayed 15-21, 18-21.
