\'If Akshay Kumar plays my part it would be awesome\': Pullela Gopichand
Mumbai: PV Sindhu defeated Japanese player Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-17 in the finals of the BWF World Championships. And, in doing so, she became the first Indian to win a gold medal at the World Championships.
She has previously performed at the highest level for India and has made the whole country proud of her. Her coach, Pullela Gopichand, played a very big role in developing her skills.
Because of her achievements, there are rumours floating around that Bollywood wants to make a film based on her life. While the actress who will play Sindhu’s role isn’t yet known, there are rumours that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will play the role of her coach Pullela Gopichand.
When Gopichand was asked by the media about his thoughts on Akshay Kumar, he said, “I like Akshay Kumar. If he plays my part it would be awesome because he is one of the people I admire the most. But I have no clarity on the biopic."
Akshay Kumar had also congratulated PV Sindhu on her gold medal win at the World Championships.
He tweeted, “Heartiest congratulations, PV Sindhu on becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal at the #BWFWorldChampionships2019. What a feat to achieve, you completely smashed it.”
