Delay In Ticketing Partner Finalization and Match Rescheduling Clouds

Delay In Ticketing Partner Finalization and Match Rescheduling Clouds the WC Ticket Sales:

The much anticipated World Cup 2023 scheduled to be held in India has generated lots of excitement among the cricket fans. In a latest development, BCCI have finalised the ticket prices for the matches.

Price fixed

The BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah met the organisers of the World Cup and state associations on July 27 and discussed the ticketing process.

The meeting concluded with the understanding that each association is independent to decide on ticket prices for the games.

However, the Cricket Association of Bengal has revealed the prices for all the matches it will be hosting at Eden Gardens.

Other associations will reveal the ticket prices after the new World Cup schedule is announced.

Earlier, three ICC members had raised objections vis-a-vis the schedule that led to the rescheduling of the matches, including the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match which was scheduled for 15th October.

When will the tickets be available?

Lack of clarity over ticket sales partner finalization and rescheduling of the matches clouds the ticket sales and the availability, as of today. The process may take a few more days before there is clarity regarding these aspects. However, despite these procedural delays, as per the sources, in all likelihood the tickets will be available from August 10th.

Reportedly, BookMyShow and Paytm are in talks with the organisers to manage the ticket sales for the World Cup but there is no official confirmation yet. The tickets will be available online. ICC Cricket World Cup’s official website will also allow fans and enthusiasts across the globe to pre-book their tickets.

What will be the price range?

The price range for the World Cup tickets may vary depending upon the venue and the contenders for the game. The tickets usually will be available from Rs 500 to Rs 10,000 per ticket. The most-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan may see tickets priced as high as Rs. 50,000.

The ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 will kickstart on October 5. The defending champions, England will take on New Zealand in the opening match in Ahmedabad.
