Watch videos, see photos: Indian team celebrations after ICC 2018 U19 World Cup glory
Mount Maunganui: The Boys in Blue have done it! On the biggest stage of them all at Under 19 cricket, Prithvi Shaw and co have created history as India, who defeated Australia in the 2018 ICC Under 19 World Cup final here on Saturday, became the first side to clinch the trophy for four times.
While Indian bowlers – Ishan Porel, Anukul Roy, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shiva Singh and Shivam Mavi – share the spoils, Manjot Kalra scored an unbeaten hundred and became only the second Indian after Unmukt Chand to score a ton in the World Cup final, as India coasted to an emphatic eight-wicket win at the Bay Oval.
The team, coached by Rahul Dravid and captained by Ishan Kishan, had come tantalisngly close to win it 2016 but fell short. But this time around, they just thumped the opposition to win the trophy. And as you would expect, there was no shortage of celebrations. The team deserved it every bit of it.
