Hyderabad Under 23: Karthikeya Kak, K Nithesh and G Shashidhar Reddy shine
Hyderabad: Karthikeya Kak, K. Nithesh Reddy and G. Shashidhar Reddy shone for the Hyderabad Under 23 team in their Col C. K. Nayudu Trophy league match against Karnataka being played at the Gymkhana ground.
Kak cut through the Karnataka batting line up with brilliant figures of 8 for 64 even as the visitors took the first innings lead before being bowled out for 249 in reply to Hyderabad’s 179. Kak’s bowling figures read an impressive 24.4-9-64-8.
However, Hyderabad batsmen made amends in their second essay and hit back through centuries from Nithesh Reddy 123 batting — 316b, 17x4 and Shashidhar Reddy 132 — 306b, 15x4, 1x6 as they reached 290 for 3 at stumps on the third day of their four-day match.
Kamal blooms in U-16 game
In an Under 16 match for the Vijay Merchant Trophy, Hyderabad’s Kamal Sawariya snared 5 for 109 — 29-5-109-5 — in their drawn encounter with Kerala.
Trisha turns in allround show
On the women’s side, G. Trisha came good with both bat and ball as Hyderabad registered successive wins over Odisha and Rajasthan in the senior women’s one-day league matches. Trisha hit a half-century (52) and then took five wickets (5 for 27) in the match against Rajasthan. In the earlier game against Odisha, Trisha scored 47 and also took two wickets while conceding 23 runs.
