Ranji Trophy: Ravi Teja comes up with allround show on debut
Hyderabad: Hyderabad allrounder T. Ravi Teja took 5 for 49 and scored 70 runs in his Ranji Trophy debut match against Railways being played in New Delhi. Bowling allrounder T. Ravi Teja picked a five-wicket haul in his debut match as Hyderabad bowled out Railways and enforced follow on in their Ranji Trophy Group ‘A’ game being played at the Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi.
Add the 70 runs he scored while batting at No.8 in Hyderabad’s innings and Ravi Teja should be a satisfied man. Resuming the third day’s play at 35 for 1, Railways’ batsmen started well but failed to last long as mediumpacer Ravi kept taking wickets from one end and finished the day with the fine figures of 18.2-6-49-5.
Railways were all out after putting 246 runs on the board. Left-arm spinner Mehdi Hasan and leg-spinner Akash Bhandari played second fiddle to Ravi by picking two wickets each. Now, Hyderabad lead Railways by 214 runs who were 13 for no loss in their second innings when stumps were drawn.
