Visiting Sri Lanka team seek monks' blessings
Captain or players going to church before any tour is a common practice by international players in their individual capacity, says Rajit.
Mumbai: The Sri Lankan team who are currently touring India for a three-match T20 series has sought the blessings of Buddhist monks.
According to Rajit Fernando, media manager of Sri Lanka team, the blessing ceremony was performed at the head-quarters of Sri Lanka Cricket in Colombo on Saturday, just before the players left for India.
“The captain or players going to church before any tour is a common practice by international players in their individual capacity,” he said. “The players collectively assembling and praying for team success before a tour is seen only in Sri Lanka.”
