Indian team sports new look!
The Indian team will be sporting a new look as they play Sri Lanka in the ongoing series. A few members of the Indian squad, including captain Virat Kohli, visited Ramani Fernando Salons at the Taj Samudra hotel recently.
“We had a very distinguished guest as a customer last week. He was none other than Team India captain Virat Kohli,” Samantha K. Pathirana, the manager at the salon, speaking to us exclusively, said and added, “Virat came with a photo, which he used to show us the look he wanted and our hair-stylist, Dhanushka Silva, obliged him.”
Later, speaking to this reporter, Dhanushka said, “I was so overwhelmed with Kohli’s request that I forgot to take his photo, and I will repent that forever! He was in quite a hurry and had no time to chat with us. But he was very happy with his new hair style and promised to send a few more members of the team.”
The stylist also added, “He sent K.L. Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya also to visit us. Most of the time during my session with Kohli, he was silent, but added he was satisfied and that he’d come again during this tour.”
The Indian team has now reached Kandy, but will be back in Colombo for the limited over matches.
“I know a few players have their wives on the current tour. As usual, we have had a few female customers also in the last couple of days, but don’t know whether any of them were wives of the players,” the hair-stylist said.
“Many Sri Lankan players and their wives do visit our salon regularly,” Samantha, the manager said.
“It was not a complimentary service to the players. Yes, we did charge them.” The hair-stylist preferred to keep mum when asked whether Kohli gave him a tip!
