BCCI discloses salary details of Ravi Shastri, Virat Kohli-led Indian team
Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday made public the payment details towards the Team India players and head coach Ravi Shastri. Players of the Indian cricket team have received the salaries as retainer fees for their central contracts along with match fees.
Players who featured in Tests also received their share of International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings cash prize received from the cricket body. As Virat Kohli and co finished on the summit of the Test rankings for the second time in a row and also retained the ICC Test mace, the share paid to each player accounted to INR 29,27,700.
The BCCI further revealed that it made an advance payment to Shastri for his coaching services from mid-July to mid-October, splashing a whopping sum of INR 2.05 crore. As per his current contract, Shastri draws an amount of INR 8 crore as payment from the board.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli received a sum of INR 1.25 crore for the ODI and Test series in South Africa complimented with the ICC prize money.
