Watch: Virat Kohli expresses his displeasure with Jadeja in colourful language
Hyderabad: India’s fielding standards are generally better than most other teams in the world.
Despite the fact that there are a few players who are not was quick on the field, the Indian cricket team boasts of one of the fittest squads in the world of cricket, with the likes of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja hurling themselves at the ball, all over the field.
However, captain Kohli was not exactly pleased with one particular piece of fielding in India’s one-off Test against Bangladesh in Hyderabad, on Saturday.
India needed to get a breakthrough at a time when the likes of two of Bangladesh’s best batsmen – Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim – were at the crease.
The duo went on to notch-up a good fifth wicket partnership of 107 runs, frustrating the India bowlers for a while. However, India had the perfect chance to stop the two Bangladeshis, at a time when their partnership was still at a nascent stage.
Both Shakib and Mushfiqur went for a second run off Umesh Yadav’s bowling on Saturday. However, the second run was always a doubtful case, and both the batsmen almost ended up on the wicketkeeper’s end.
However, Jadeja, who was fielding in the deep, threw the ball at the wrong end – towards Wriddhiman Saha. By the time the India wicketkeeper threw the ball to Umesh, Mushfiqur had already gotten back to his mark, something that seemed to enrage Kohli.
The India captain, who was not pleased with Jadeja’s lack of awareness, and let the all-rounder have a piece of his mind after this incident.
