Division league: Prince, Kamar, Rohit, Mudassir, Anwar shine

The left-handed batsman struck the ball all over the ground during his 190-ball innings which comprised seven boundaries and four maximums.

Hyderabad: Danny Derek Prince of SBI and South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) Shaik Kamaruddin gave nightmares to their rivals on the first day of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s top division three-day league matches played at various venues here.

Prince hit a tremendous knock of 137 runs while KSK Chaitanya’s 54 and B. Sumanth’s unbeaten 43 helped SBI to 390 for the loss of five wickets by close on the first day.

In Pool ‘B’, SCSRA’s Shaik Kamaruddin dismissed seven batters of Evergreen by sending them back to dressing room while conceding 30 runs. The right arm mediumpacer maintained fine figures of 16-2-30-7 as Evergreen collapsed to 133. SCRSA in reply made 95 for loss of two wickets S. Chiranjeev batting on 54.

In another Pool ‘B’ match, AOC were razed down for 232 as Anwar Ahmed Khan of Hyderabad Bottling scalped five wickets. Anwar troubled the AOC batsmen who couldn’t stitch a good partnership.

The left-arm mediumpacer bowled a good line & length and varied pace to be the star performer of the match. Anwar’s figures read 13.4-2-31-5. Shivam Tiwari and G. Rahul Singh topped the AOC batting card with 57 and 48 runs respectively. Hyderabad Bottling were 41 for no loss by close of play.

In Pool ‘A’, Jai Hanuman made 238/4 in which Rohit Rayudu made the maximum contribution of unbeaten 110 runs in 250 balls which included 11 fours and a six. Anirudh Reddy played second fiddle by scoring 53 while Tanay Thyagarajan snared three wickets for Sporting XI.

Meanwhile, Andhra Bank were all out for 196 as BDL bowler Md Mudassir Hussain made it tough for them to stay at crease. Hussain shone with a five-wicket haul while conceding 55 runs. Amol Shinde scored 57 for Andhra Bank while P. Saaketh Sai Ram took three wickets for BDL.
