Sunil Dev challenged to take lie detector test
Mumbai: Sun Star, a Hindi daily, has challenged the former Team India manager Sunil Dev to take a lie detector tests and prove that he had not revealed in a sting operation carried out by the paper that captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni “Had fixed the 2014 Manchester Test between England and India.”
Group Editor of the paper Onkareshwar Pandey said, “we stand by our story. Let Dhoni’s laywers file defamation case against us. We didn’t endorse Sunil Dev’s views but had only released the transcripts of Dev’s versions and therefore the question of apologising to Dhoni does not arise.”
“Mr Sunil is not an ordinary official. He must not be allowed to make statements and deny later. He has this habit. Either he should accept whatever he said to us or apologise unconditionally. If he is denying the truth he should be ready to face the lie-detector Test,” says Pandey.
