Virat Kohli doffs his hat to Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni
Cuttack: Virat Kohli’s faith in bringing back Yuvraj Singh to India’s ODI side and easing the burden on MS Dhoni was justified after the two turned back the clock and powered India to a series win over England here on Thursday.

The Yuvraj-Dhoni combination revived Indian innings after Chris Woakes had reduced the side to 25-3 with skipper Kohli back in the dressing room. Yuvraj and Dhoni, who scored 150 and 134 respectively, put up a 256-run partnership as India amassed 381 runs after put in to bat by Eoin Morgan at the Barabati Stadium.

Kohli was pleased as punch as he spoke about India’s victory and the super show from two of the most experienced campaigners of the Indian side.

"Two of the greats stepping up as they have done so many times for Indian cricket," said a beaming Kohli as he lauded Yuvraj and Dhoni’s solid show with the bat.

"That's exactly what we envisioned when we got Yuvraj back into the side, that if these two bat together to bring in that stability and experience to the side, it's going to do wonders for the team. From 25/3, scoring four runs an over, to score 381 was outstanding,” added Kohli after he won his first limited-overs series as India’s ODI captain.
