India's blind cricket team visit Burj Khalifa
Dubai: India’s blind cricket team, who won the World Cup final against Pakistan in Sharjah on Friday, were on the top of the world the next day as they visited Burj Khalifa. The Ajay Reddy-led team relished their trip to the world’s tallest tower.
Ajay said: “We are excited to have visited Burj Khalifa. We have no words to express our joy. Before the matches the team members had decided not to visit any mall or places in Dubai and this was our first outing.”
The victorious Indian blind team are scheduled to return to India on Monday evening. Meanwhile, the captain and team has received a congratulatory message from India’ chief selector MSK Prasad. Interestingly, both Prasad and Ajay hail from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.
Prasad, who is travelling with the team in South Africa, said: “I know Ajay for the past four years. Whenever I meet him I always tell him that we are there to support him. I wholeheartedly congratulate the blind team on winning the World Cup.”
