India vs WI: Twitterati goes berserk as Virat Kohli becomes fastest to 10000 ODI runs
Visakhapatnam: India skipper Virat Kohli became Wednesday the fastest-ever batsman to reach 10,000 one-day international runs, making history in his 205th innings against the West Indies in Visakhapatnam.
The 29-year-old surpassed fellow Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar, who first crossed the 10,000-run mark in 259 innings in 2001.
Kohli became the fourth Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar (18426), Sourav Ganguly (11221) and Rahul Dravid (10768) to join the 10000-run ODI club.
Here's how Twitterati reacted to his milestone:

@imVkohli is chalking up milestones with a regularity as if it was an everyday affair. 10000 ODI runs already and he is perhaps just at the halfway mark of his career. Remarkable!

To give you an idea of how much better Virat Kohli is than other great ODI players: him scoring 10,000 ODI runs in 205 innings—54 faster than the next best—is proportionately equivalent to breaking Usain Bolt's 100m record by exactly 2.00 seconds (100m in 7.58 seconds). #INDvWI

Kohli, playing his 213th ODI, took a single off spinner Ashley Nurse to reach the milestone. He is just the 13th batsman, and fifth Indian, to join the elite list.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kohli surpassed Tendulkar as the highest scoring Indian against West Indies in ODIs, going past his 1573 run mark.
The flamboyant right-hander is also in line to score 1000 ODI runs in a calendar year after achieving the feat five times during 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017.
