Madurai: The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court directed the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) and the district collector on Mon-day to conduct the ‘TN premier league tournament’ at the ICL cricket ground at Bala Vidyalaya School with adequate safety measures.
The division bench headed by Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Puspha Sathyanarayana issued this direction on a petition filed by A E Rajan from Tirunelveli, demanding that the tournament venue be shifted from the ICL ground to any other place in the town as there were no safety arrangements for cricket fans. After examining the petition, the court directed the respondents to conduct the tournament with proper safety measures in place.
