Indian players get a new look in Sri Lanka
The boys seem to be looking for something new. And hair-stylist Damith Chandika seems to have obliged. Sources in Sri Lanka tell us that Damith, of the Ramani Fernando Salons, which is housed in Hotel Taj Samudra, gave the team members of both India and Sri Lanka teams a ‘new look’ in their respective hotel rooms. Incidentally, the Indian team is staying in Taj Samudra. (The host team is put up in Cinnamon Grand in Colombo.)
According to our sources, the hair stylist had spent about two weeks in a bio-bubble before going to the team members’ hotel rooms on the specified date and time.
On his part, Damith spoke to us exclusively, pointing out that in the past Sri Lanka’s cricketers, both past and present, regularly visited the salon. Later, speaking exclusively, Damith added, “I’m proud to have been able to give a new look to these players. It was indeed a good experience to treat the Indian players. They were very friendly and co-operative.”
That being said, Damith also shares with us that his conversations with the Indian players were limited because of the language problem.
Sri Lanka’s captain Dasun Shanaka, Isuru Udana, Praveen Jayawickrema, Pathum Nissanka, bowling coach Chaminda Vaas and many others also had their hair cut with this stylist.
