Won' day for the Men in Blue?
Team India is on a roll and our indomitable squad is all set to showcase its phenomenal skills at Chinnaswamy Stadium today. In Australia’s tour of India, our Men in Blue have won three ODI games in a row, and are showing no signs of lessening their intensity for the fourth game that will be played here at 1 pm. The city’s cricket buffs are excitedly gearing up to watch Kohli’s men take on the men from Down Under and are devotedly going to the stadium to root for their team, live.
Student Arjun Srinivasan is one among those ardent fans who stood in line in the wee hours of the morning to get hold of a ticket at the KSCA. “I was in Chennai for the first game, but couldn’t make it to the stadium. This time, I went to KSCA at 6.15 am, and waited for three hours to buy my ticket which was priced Rs 1,500. But it’s all going to be worth it when I enter the stadium during the match,” says Arjun, adding, “India is undoubtedly the best side. But, we have become the number one ODI side without playing against Pakistan. This time, I want to see the Aussies fight back. I always support a good game of cricket.”
Graduate Shravni Ramkumar is super thrilled about watching an ODI live after six years. “The last one I saw was the India-England game during the World Cup. This is going to be a special game as it’s always been my dad and my thing to watch cricket matches together. I’m also a huge fan of the Kohli-Dhoni partnership and I don’t know when I’ll get a chance to see MS Dhoni live again. I’d love to see Kohli hit a 100 as this is RCB’s home ground after all!” she states.
Her dad Ramkumar Krishnamurthy, chips in, “I’ve always taken my daughter for these matches and it’s nice as I get to spend time with her. I’m a major fan of Dhoni and would love to see him at his explosive best. These matches provide us with a good break from day-to-day life and it’s always a pleasure to watch a match at Chinnaswamy as the crowd is brilliant.”
Another player who has impressed fans with his talent is all-rounder Hardik Pandya who was the star of the previous match and is being touted as the next ‘Kapil Dev’. The Baroda boy, who was showered with praise by Captain Kohli, batted at number four in the previous ODI. Businessman Shiva M, who is going to watch today’s game live says, “Pandya is a superstar in the making. His confidence is amazing and I hope he gives us another treat,” he says.
