IPL 2026: Teams Most Likely to Qualify for the Playoffs

IPL 2026 Playoff Race: SRH, PBKS and RCB in strong contention; RR and GT hold the edge for the remaining spot.

With the league stage entering its decisive phase, five teams currently appear to have the strongest chances of reaching the top four:
1. Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH are in the best position, sitting at the top of the table with seven wins from 11 matches. One more victory could virtually seal a playoff berth, and they are also strong contenders to finish in the top two.
2. Punjab Kings
PBKS have been one of the most consistent teams this season. With six wins and a game in hand over some rivals, they are well placed to qualify and remain favourites for a top-two finish.
3. Royal Challengers Bengaluru
The defending champions are firmly in contention. Their strong net run rate and balanced performances make them one of the safest bets for the playoffs.
4. Rajasthan Royals
RR are in a solid position with six wins and good momentum. Their recent victories have significantly boosted their qualification chances.
5. Gujarat Titans
GT are level with Rajasthan Royals on wins and remain very much in control of their destiny. A couple more victories should be enough to secure a top-four finish.
Strong Outside Chance
Chennai Super Kings
CSK have revived their campaign and are still in the hunt. They likely need to win at least three of their remaining matches and may require favorable results elsewhere.
Teams Facing an Uphill Task
Delhi Capitals
Kolkata Knight Riders
Mumbai Indians
Lucknow Super Giants
These teams either need near-perfect finishes or are close to elimination.
Predicted Playoff Teams (Most Likely)
