A controversy was ignited after a video on social media platforms claimed that the India flag is not put at the Karachi stadium in Pakistan along with other participating team flags ahead of the Champions Trophy.
The video that is now going viral on various social media platforms is drawing heated responses from users.
While some users gave calls for Indians to carry national flags to stadiums, some others vented out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) calling the move 'childish'.
However, a section of fans are speculating that the decision was taken because India chose to not travel to Pakistan and are playing all of their matches at a neutral venue -- Dubai.
The much-anticipated ICC 50-over tournament would begin in 2 days on February 19 with arch-rivals India and Pakistan set for a face-off on February 23.
Earlier, India adamantly refused to travel to the neighboring country citing security and political issues, which put the conduct of the tournament in a limbo. The ICC subsequently came with a plan that would help the smooth conduct of the marquee series without changing the venue.
There was also a rumor that India would not put Pakistan on their kit as per the ICC protocol, which was rubbished by the BCCI secretary, who clarified that India would follow all the ICC rules.
