New York: A fan had breached the security to meet the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, during India's only practice match against Bangladesh in the T20 world Cup at the newly built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium at New York.
Fans breaching security to meet their favorite players is a common sight in India and a few other cricket playing countries but people were surprised to see the act in the USA.
The fan dressed in a blue t-shirt has breached the security and hugged Rohit Sharma who was fielding at covers. The New York cops have swiftly taken things into control and apprehended the fan.
Rohit Sharma spoke with the police asking them to go easy on the fan and he also called a staff member from the Indian dugout to help the fan.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma had scored 23 runs in the match and India won by 60 runs.
