ISL: Mourtada Fall scores a brace as five-star Goa spoil Mumbai City's party
Mumbai: FC Goa assured themselves of one foot in the final of the Indian Super League (ISL) when they staged a comeback to beat Mumbai City 5-1 in their semifinal first leg clash at Mumbai Football Arena here on Saturday.
After going down 0-1 to the expense of Rafael Bastos’ goal in the 20th minute, goals from Jackichand Singh, Mourtada Fall and Ferran Corominas ensured that Goa would take the advantage to the second leg at home on March 12.
Mourtada Fall scored a brace, both of which came from corners.
Trailing 1-2, the hosts had a great chance created by Modou Sougou just before half-time, but was declared offside by the referee as the flag went up.
With the Goan fans' roar just growing louder as the game progressed, they had more reasons to celebrate as Jackichand Singh brought the visitors' fifth goal of the match.
This one was yet another assist by Brandon Fernandes, who finished the night with two of them.
